The Asus ROG Ally is an excellent Steam Deck alternative that thankfully runs Windows 11. Pros: Incredible performance. Adjustable modes (Silent, Performance, Turbo)

The ROG Ally is a winner (with the Z1 Extreme) It doesn't immediately solve all the issues of the Steam Deck. But for a higher price, Asus is offering acceptable battery life, better performance, more game support through Xbox Game Pass, and a much nicer screen.

Compared to the Nintendo Switch OLED Model, the higher-end Asus ROG Ally system is considerably more expensive. But, when you consider it runs the same PC games as a gaming laptop that would cost more than $700, Ally offers good value for the money, not to mention really good overall performance.

If you're just starting out with this kind of handheld, the Steam Deck is the easy choice. The Lenovo Legion Go is heavier and larger but with better specs and display. Games look and run smoother, and can even handle ray tracing depending on the title.
