Make sure the browser works with Gmail. Browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, and Safari work well with Gmail, but some browsers don't. If you have problems and you know the browser is compatible, enable cookies and JavaScript. Use another browser or device.

Go to http://accounts.google.com/signin/usernamerecovery and enter any email accounts or phone numbers that you've had for a while and which may have been used as recovery info. The “find your email” page can help you locate any forgotten Google accounts. On the next page, you'll be asked for your name.

Type in your username and password. Once you've opened the web address of your email provider, you will see a login page. Enter your email account's credentials (username and password) in the text fields provided. If you forgot your password, you can usually click the "Forgot Password?" link to reset it.

On your computer, go to Gmail. Enter your Google Account email or phone number and password. If information is already filled in and you have to sign in to a different account, click Use another account. If you get a page that describes Gmail instead of the sign-in page, at the top right of the page, click Sign in.
