Using a base coat and a clear coat is perhaps the most common way to paint a car, seeing as using two coats of paint provides shine and protection. Often referred to as a clear coat finish — because of its placement on top of the base coat — is actually a paint that doesn't contain any color or pigment.

UHS clear coat UHS clear coats have a high solids content, so fewer layers will be required to achieve the desired dry thickness. This is a type of clear coat that offers an excellent finish paint and a considerable drying time reduction.

HS (high solids) – the resin particles are smaller compared to the MS ones, and the amount of solvent is around 15% (usually around 420 g/l). UHS or VHS (ultra or very high solids) – the size of resin particles is even smaller and consequently it is possible to reduce by thinner up to 10% (less solvents than 420g/l).

Acrylic Enamel. There are two kinds of enamel paints: single-stage and two-stage. Single-stage enamel paints have the basecoat and clearcoat mixed, and you have to apply a single layer of paint, while the two-stage enamel requires the basecoat and clear coat to be applied separately.
